When researchers approached me and invited me to join the project, I was excited at the idea of working collectively with youth to research climate justice education. In high school, I had never had opportunities to participate in research, so I was excited to learn about how to partner with youths and support them as researchers. I also believed that youths would have valuable insight about climate justice education, being students in the class themselves, and I wanted to learn from their experiences.
While there is a lot of research about youths, there is relatively little research that includes insights from youths as researchers. Youths offer firsthand perspectives that adult researchers cannot always analyze.
